Master's Degree in International Relations

The profile that is sought is that of a Graduate or Engineer. They do not need a university education in a specific area. We evaluate qualities that allow us to foresee their good integration in the group, such as ability to converse, having an open mind, willingness to share and actively participate in the development of the program, etc. The program is enriched thanks to the varied origin of its participants, because it favors the knowledge of the management of International Relations.

In order to access this Master's degree, it will be necessary to have an official Spanish university degree, or one issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that grants access to Master's studies in the country issuing said degree.

Basic Competences of the Degree:

1. Students must know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their ability to solve problems in new or uncertain environments in broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts within the framework of International Relations.
2. Students must be able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities related to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
3. Students must know how to communicate their conclusions -and the ultimate knowledge and reasons that support them- to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
4. Students must possess the learning skills that allow them to continue training in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

Generic Competences

The generic competences are as follows:

• GC1. The student must acquire updated knowledge about Political, Economic and Social Relations at an international level.
• GC2. The student must be able to systematically understand complex concepts, the relevant information, their context and how to apply it to specific situations, taking into account how it affects the different actors and agents of each situation.
• GC3. The student must master the advanced techniques that allow him to obtain and analyze information, evaluate its relevance and validity, synthesize it and adapt it to the context.
• GC4. The student must be able to understand and deal with complex situations and arguments in a systematic and creative way, with critical judgment, with incomplete information, taking risks, making decisions and communicating them to any type of audience.
• GC5. The student must be able to communicate correctly both orally and in writing, both in Spanish and in a second language, using the most current technology.
• GC6. The student must be able to act autonomously in the evaluation of socio-political events as well as anticipate possible scenarios for the development of events.
• GC7. The student must be able to play different roles within a team.
• GC8. The student must be able to recognize the need for change and must have the necessary skill to manage it.
• GC9. The student must be able to act autonomously in a framework of responsible freedom.
• GC10. The student must be able to add value to the organization through his creativity and participation.
• GC11. Ability to manage teams and diversity.
• GC12. Ability to integrate equality policies into organizations and work, especially between women and men, and with attention to disability.
• GC13. Ability to establish systems for evaluating the quality of one's own work and the team's work.

Specific Competences

The specific competences have been determined with the same procedure as the generic ones, and in one way or another are included within them.

• SC1. Ability to perform a critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas from different advanced theoretical approaches in the area of International Relations, integrating the knowledge acquired and considering social responsibility and respect for a strict professional ethical code.
• SC2. Ability to handle the fundamental concepts involved in International Relations
• SC3. Ability to analyze International Relations, their agents, interests and their relationship modes
• SC4. Ability to write and compose a study on International Relations
• SC5. Ability to present orally and defend the study before a specialized audience
• SC6. Ability to search for documentation, contrast and criticism of information sources related to International Relations
• SC7. Ability to apply the knowledge acquired in solving problems in new and dynamic environments, such as changes in international, regional or state political systems.
• SC8. Ability to practically apply the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the course in the field of international relations.
• SC9. Ability to apply the knowledge acquired in the Master's degree to a particular case
• SC10. Ability to recognize problems and opportunities in the analysis and execution of issues related to the dynamics of international relations
• SC11. Ability to contribute, from an academic perspective, to the advancement of the analysis of international politics under the prism that provides the context of a society based on knowledge and communication.

• SC24. Ability to make decisions from a strategic perspective based on the formal and analytical models of the most recent and advanced theories in international relations.
• SC25. Ability to make decisions from a strategic perspective in internationalized companies based on the formal and analytical models of the most recent and advanced economic theories.
• SC26. Ability to make decisions from a strategic perspective in the field of national security strategy design, based on the formal and analytical models of the most recent and advanced theories of policy analysis.

• SC28. Ability to develop strategic negotiation processes based on an advanced analysis of the specific distributional interests of actors, multinational companies and international organizations in the changing and dynamic context of world trade and economy.
