Introduction

The Postgraduate Course "Master in Criminology" is organized by the Faculty of Psychology of the Universidad del Aconcagua based in Mendoza, Argentina. It is structured, continuous, and face-to-face.

The creation of this Master's Degree was due to the need to train disciplinary and interdisciplinary academics to investigate the crime phenomenon, design, conduct, and evaluate policies, plans, and programs for the prevention and approach of it and its consequences, advise and intervene in the approach of complex problems such as drug addiction, violence, and delinquency. The curriculum provides theoretical, methodological, and technical training for research, intervention, advice, and the generation of solutions for today's serious social problems.

The career is organized in curricular activities centered on axes, which are offered as theoretical-practical courses, seminars, and workshops of the different integrated disciplines. Its axes are Criminology (Criminology I, Criminology of Violence, Criminology and Social Control, Criminology II, Victimology, Problems and Legislation of Children, Adolescents and Family, Criminological Intervention Programs, Conflict Resolution, and Restorative Justice, Criminal Policy), Legal (Criminal System: Institutions and Procedures, Special Topics of Criminal Law and Penology, Human Rights and Inter-American Protection System), Psychological (Criminal Psychopathology, Legal Psychology, Addictions, and Problematic Consumption), Sociological (Sociology, Society and Crime), Methodological (Epistemology of Human Sciences, Research Methodology I, Research Methodology II, Advanced Research Methods, Thesis Workshop). All these activities are compulsory for the teachers.
