- Design applied projects and develop research initiation skills that promote the advancement of scientific knowledge in the political sphere, in professional and academic contexts.
- Apply and integrate the acquired knowledge, so that the acquired self-learning skills allow to continue studying and researching in the political sphere in an autonomous or self-directed way.

Specific Competences
- Understand the most advanced methods and theoretical approaches in political analysis and apply them, in an autonomous way and directed at new emerging problems and challenges, in different public sector sectors.
- Possess advanced knowledge of experimental techniques, methods of empirical analysis and forms of statistical measurement of political phenomena in the public and private spheres.
- Identify and critically evaluate the normative and theoretical foundations of democratic systems from an advanced perspective and in the context of the new digital society.
- Understand the theoretical foundations and empirical postulates of governability, governance, and the principles of good governance and accountability in democratic institutions.
- Solve specific problems related to institutional design from a political engineering perspective, in the context of comparative theory, and propose alternatives for reform in national and international settings.
- Identify the most effective mechanisms for the representation and political inclusion of minorities in public institutions, including the most effective instruments for achieving a parity democracy.
- Apply new programs and new formulas for citizen participation to public decision-making within the framework of institutional and political innovation strategies.
- Acquire skills and adapt to work in interdisciplinary and international teams of electoral consultancy and campaign offices, and / or lead them.
- To develop the professional work of advisory and political consulting of public organizations and private entities within the framework of strategic and comprehensive planning.
- Identify the most appropriate channels for the design and preparation of specialized reports and advanced research projects in Political Science, Public Management and Administration Science.
- Communicate and defend plans, proposals, studies and advanced reports, as well as its methodology and conclusions before experts and specialized audiences or interested in the matter.
Admission profile
The Official University Master's Degree in Applied Political Analysis is aimed at:
- Graduates and Graduates in Social, Legal and Economic Sciences. Other degrees will be considered, as long as the candidate's profile is appropriate to the contents of the Program.
- Professional profiles or those with political or public administration experience, whose professional career is deemed appropriate to the competencies of the degree, will also be considered.
Professional outings
Graduates of the Official Master's Degree in Applied Political Analysis will have training that will allow them to carry out different types of work related to specialization in understanding complex organizations and institutional, political and administrative systems. Two areas of influence can be highlighted:
Governance in the public sphere (in the central, autonomous or local Administration), with the aim of guiding government action and solving problems of participation, transparency and good governance.
Political consulting and strategic advice for governments, parties and public institutions, unions, professional organizations, companies, non-governmental organizations and social movements, etc.
Regarding the graduation profile of the Master in Applied Political Analysis, the students who have completed this degree will have acquired the competences and skills suitable to successfully face the challenges posed by decision-making in complex environments. The realization of the Master's degree qualifies to hold management, assistant director and senior technician positions at the different levels of the state-autonomous and local public administration- and for the free professional practice of advice and consultancy, especially as consultants for public administrations, such as public policy analysts and as advisers in the political and institutional communication sector.
Consequently, the Master in Applied Political Analysis enables the student to develop their professional skills in the following areas:
- Public sector: for the performance of functions of leadership, planning and management, coordination, study, design and evaluation in any of the public administrations, political institutions and organizations of a public nature that operate in the international, European, state, autonomous and local.
- Private sector: for the development of highly qualified advisory, consulting and assistance tasks to public administrations, or to political, interest, non-governmental or lobbying organizations, as well as to companies and associations in their relations with the public sector.
- Political, interest representation, non-governmental organizations and lobbies: management functions, program and project design, strategic planning and execution, analysis and study, advice, coordination and communication within this type of organization.
- Research: for the development of research in advanced policy and R&D activities that make it possible to contribute new advances to the scientific knowledge of the discipline and transfer the results to the public and private sectors, and to prepare rigorous reports and analyzes on complex political and public policy phenomena, as well as the transmission of knowledge in formats adapted to different types of audience or public.
