Introduction

The Public Universities of the Central-Western Region of ANUIES, agreed to promote the creation of the Inter-institutional Doctorate in Psychology, a quality program whose fundamental purpose is to meet specific needs of the region, through the training of researchers of the highest level in a framework of flexibility, following the policies of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) and complying with the quality indicators indicated by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) through the National Quality Postgraduate Program (PNPC).

The DIP is an inter-institutional postgraduate program that has the advantage of combining the human and material resources that each of the Institutions have separately, to integrate a faculty that has all the material resources, infrastructure and sufficient equipment, for the full development of training and research activities at the regional level, thus constituting an alternative for the training of high-level personnel, optimizing available material and human resources.

The doctorate is aimed at Graduates in Psychology, who have a Master's Degree in Psychology or a related discipline: Sociology, Educational Sciences, Anthropology, Social Work, Communication Sciences, Health Sciences, Philosophy.

General purpose

Train human resources with a high academic level, capable of carrying out original scientific research, applying knowledge and carrying out quality teaching activities in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, in order to promote the development of the science of Psychology.

Specific objectives

  • Train researchers to develop research proposals at the regional, national and international level that enrich knowledge in the science of Psychology.
  • Form highly competitive academic cadres to strengthen teaching in Psychology educational programs.
  • Train researchers with mastery in various epistemological models and their differential approach to solving regional and national problems in order to achieve increasingly relevant responses, seeking to generate new knowledge.
  • Develop the ability to critically assess the epistemological, methodological and technical-instrumental relevance of the projects and the chosen line of research.

Profile of the graduate

The DIP graduate will have the necessary knowledge to:

  • Develop original and quality research papers.
  • Offer solutions to specific cases related to research problems in the area of Psychology.
  • Master the specialized and frontier knowledge related to their line of training in the Doctorate program.

The PhD graduate will have the skills to:

  • Exercise leadership with research groups.
  • Apply the research methodology to the problems of the disciplinary area.
  • Organize, advise and teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level related to their line of training.
  • Present and discuss your research work before specialists and disseminate it to broad social sectors.
  • Manage before the corresponding organizations at regional, national and international levels to obtain financing for research projects.

The graduate will have attitudes and values to:

  • Act for the benefit of the global social environment by applying the knowledge and skills acquired.
  • Participate with work teams in projects of the discipline or of a multidisciplinary nature.
  • Carry out their activities in accordance with professional ethics.

The DIP currently considers three lines of generation and/or application of knowledge:

  • Educational psychology

  • Health Psychology
