Apply@UniTo – Your UniTo Journey Starts Here!

International students can apply via Apply@UniTo for a €60 fee, which allows you to apply for up to two degree programs. Depending on the program, you might face an interview with the program’s faculty or entrance test.

Deadlines and steps vary by citizenship and program — so read the instructions carefully.
Prepare thoroughly and make your application count!

If you're a non-EU applicant living outside Italy, you must apply for a long-term study visa to begin your studies at the University of Turin.

To start the visa process, you must submit a pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly platform. Pre-enrolment deadlines may vary each academic year, so be sure to check the official UniTo website for the latest dates.
You’ll be asked to choose the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence, where you'll later submit your visa request. If you're living outside your country of citizenship, check with the local Embassy whether you are allowed to apply for a study visa there and follow their specific guidance.

On Universitaly, you can pre-enrol for only one degree program, for which you’ve previously applied via the Apply@UniTo portal. Once admitted on Apply@UniTo, the University of Turin will confirm your status directly to the Embassy via Universitaly. A separate acceptance letter is no longer required.

To apply for a visa, you’ll need:

      • A valid passport
      • Proof of financial means to support your stay in Italy
      • Evidence of your ability to return to your home country
      • Any additional documents required by the local Italian Embassy or Consulate.

We strongly recommend contacting the Embassy or Consulate in charge to confirm specific documents and extra requirements.

Visa processing may take up to three months or longer. We encourage you to submit your pre-enrolment as early as possible to stay on track and prepare for your arrival in Turin.

Please note: admission to a degree program is required but does not guarantee a visa. The final decision rests solely with the Italian diplomatic authorities.

Our aim is to empower talented and motivated students to thrive in a world-class academic environment, while building a future beyond borders! For this reason, at the University of Torino international students can choose among a variety of scholarships, depending on the type of program and applicant profile.
Two key opportunities are open to students of all degree programs and academic level:

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) provides scholarships for international students and Italian citizens living abroad. These grants support study, research, and training in Italy and are available for all academic levels at institutions like the University of Turin.

Some degree prorgams also offer specific opportunities to their students:

A vibrant campus life, an amazing town, and a unique Italian region

We are an urban campus in the heart of Turin – a city with a lively cultural and youth scene, which is also a most desirable and safe place to study and live. The Piedmont region is home to 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites and is renowned as one of Italy’s premier food and wine destinations.

      Turin and surroundings

Situated in the North West of the country, on the banks of the Po River and surrounded by the Alps, Turin is the administrative centre of the Piedmont Region and the third biggest city in Italy. The urban area is bordered by what has always been historically known as the "Corona delle Delizie", the crown or ring of delights, formed by the Royal Residences dotted around the outside of the city.

The biggest attraction is the city itself with its cultural offerings, thanks to a wide range of museums, sites, monuments, churches, parks, theatres and events which take place all year round. More than two thousand years of history have contributed to building up this incredible heritage: from the Roman Empire, through the Middle Ages, the Savoy court, becoming the first capital of Italy in 1861, over the Risorgimento, to being the capital of Italian industrial production over the 20th century with FIAT.

Turin's exciting lifestyle is particularly appreciated by young people and students, willing to pursue their academic careers in this city. Over the last years, great work has been done to improve the services of the city to the student community. From a brand new campus, to a higher number of study rooms and housing options, to transportation and student-friendly policies, Turin is now a very student-oriented city.

      Public transportation

Turin has an extensive public transportation network that, through a combination of subway, bus and streetcar, reaches all major university sites. The Metropolitan Railway Service also allows staff and students residing in the municipalities of the Turin belt to forgo the private car.

Rooms at Edisu must be booked through the EDISU online procedure (available in Italian and English).

      Canteens

Edisu Piemonte, a regional institution for students' assistance, offers restaurant service to all university students at special fares, in our university canteens.

      The service is addressed to:

      • Italian and foreign students (with a valid residence permit), regularly enrolled at the University of Turin for the current academic year
      • professors, university staff and lecturers, also coming from other Italian or foreign Universities
      • people attending conferences, seminars and study activities
      • other people authorized by Edisu

Price brackets are established on the basis of ISEE form (Equivalent Financial Situation Index) and ISP (Indicator of the Property Situation) information provided by the student, and – for students enrolled in years successive to the first – according to merit requirements (that is, the achievement of at least 15 credits during the last 12 calendar months).
