The Academic Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences (PPG-CA-MA), a course recommended by CAPES grade 4, started its first class in 2011. Since then, the research work of the team of teachers and students has addressed the environmental challenges, considering the interaction between human and natural systems that emerge in the contemporary world.

The research line “ Composition and Structural Processes of Hydrographic Basins” refers to space for the production of knowledge of the complex network of natural environment-human health-sustainable development-technology-environmental policies-culture relations, that is, seeking inseparability between social and ecological systems in the development processes of a sustainable territory belonging to the daily life of society.

This master's degree has doctoral professors experienced both in teaching and in research orientation attested by their publications qualified by the area of ​​Environmental Sciences.
