The Master in Local Food Policy, offered by UNISG in collaboration with CIHEAM Bari, focuses on developing skills for local food supply chains and policies. It provides students with the tools needed to develop market analysis, sustainable management, and advocacy for fair food practices. Study the food ethics of tomorrow today
Sustainability and ethics are cross-cutting concepts in the Local Food Policy curriculum to understand the centrality of these issues with respect to innovative food policies. Students will acquire the skills needed to become future leaders of sustainable food systems.

Our teaching approach goes beyond the traditional classroom model by giving students the opportunity to experience first-hand various practical activities, from educational trips to the trip from Pollenzo to Bari and participation in innovation laboratories. Scholarships and Funding
UNISG offers 1 total scholarship in the amount of € 8,500, including Student Housing and Academic Tables, for citizens from low-income countries or lower-middle-income or upper-middle-income countries.
Students can apply for a university fee exemption if they meet all the following requirements:
- Income and property situation does not exceed the limits indicated in the public announcements;
- Have been admitted to the Master's program for the 2024/25 academic year with a minimum admission score of 80 out of 100;
- Are in possession of a minimum level of English language equivalent to a C1 level.

The blended format of this Master, which combines online lessons with intensive in-person lessons (in Pollenzo and Bari), offers a versatile and convenient teaching model for all types of students, both young people at the beginning of their careers and professionals looking to make a change in their career path.
The courses will be divided into:
- First part at a distance (phase 1) – January – April
- Intensive in-person lessons (phase 2) – May – July
- Second part at a distance (phase 3) – July – August
- Internship or research (phase 4) – September – December
- Thesis or final report (phase 5) – September – December
