Introduction

Master in Physics gives you the opportunity to work within a large variety of applied physics. You can work in research fields governing:

  • Renewable Energy, with a specific focus on solar and fusion energy.
  • Earth Observation, with a focus on remote sensing.
  • Space Physics, with research in the upper atmosphere, ionosphere, plasma physics.
  • Electrical Engineering, where we focus on ultrasound, Nano and microscopy, and optics.
  • Climate Dynamics, with a focus on climate sensitivity, climate modeling, energy transport in the atmosphere.

Master in Physics offers four different disciplines to choose between:

  • Earth Observation
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Energy and Climate
  • Space Physics

Each discipline covers different fields of physics. When you start, you will be introduced to the research group relevant to the field you choose, and throughout your two years at UiT, you will be work closely with this research group.

You will be working with state-of-the-art equipment and modern techniques for solving research and industrial problems. You will be working with theoretical and practical problems and get an understanding that can be applied to further research or work after completion of the study.
