Introduction

The International Master’s Degree Program in Israel Studies offers students the opportunity for an in-depth study of the state of Israel: its history, complex society, multicultural character and relationships with the Jewish Diaspora.

Aligning the unprecedented growth of programs, research centers, and chair endowments in Israel Studies in North America and Europe, our program is designed for students who wish to broaden their understanding of Israeli society from a variety of perspectives, including Aliyah and migration, economics, politics, culture, religion, and the ties between Israel and Jewish communities abroad.

  • Encourages independent critical thinking regarding the historical development of Israel and its current status.
  • Provides students with the education and skills to succeed in careers in public affairs, diplomacy, Foreign Affairs, education, and research.

One Year, One Degree

Our one-year program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters from October through September. Graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts in Israel Studies, alongside a certificate of specialization in Israel Studies and 20th Century Jewish History.

Students who prefer to pursue the research track will submit their thesis within one year of completing their coursework, which may require a prolonged stay at the university.
