International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Medicine

The international program at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM is designed to educate professional, adaptive, humanist, and visionary doctors. The program is highly regarded, with notable rankings and accreditation such as on QS WUR, International Accreditation by ASIIN (valid until 2029), and National Accreditation by Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education Health (LAMPTKes), "Grade A – Excellent." This 5.5-year program offers outstanding training in academics, medical skills, and soft skills. Graduates are known for their interprofessional expertise, emergency response skills, and up-to-date knowledge. Students also learn about advancements in information technology relevant to the industrial revolution era. All academic activities, including lectures, tutorials, biomedical lab activities, assignments, and exams, are conducted in English, except for patient and field-related activities. To enhance global perspectives, the program provides various elective modules.

Collaborations with partner universities worldwide allow students to study abroad for one semester. Students can deepen their research skills and apply them to real-world projects. FK-KMK supports internationalization through summer and winter courses, visiting professors, and participation in medical student organizations at various levels. The program also offers elective programs within the school, inter-university, and international institutions to help students enhance their competencies. Graduates must also be committed to improving community health and welfare. Students participate in the Community and Family Health Care with Interprofessional Education (CFHC-IPE) program with peers from Nursing and Health Nutrition for seven semesters. This activity trains students to collaborate with professionals in family support activities from the first semester, preparing them for professional roles and enhancing their communication skills for managing societal health issues.
