About: The M.A. of Interdisciplinary Humanities offers students a chance to explore a variety of fields within the humanities. This program encourages critical thinking and fosters creativity. You’ll engage with texts, ideas, and cultures, gaining a deep understanding of human experiences and expressions.

Career Outcomes: Graduates are prepared for diverse careers in areas such as education, publishing, cultural organizations, and public service. Others may choose to pursue further academic research or work within non-profit sectors.

The Interdisciplinary Humanities graduate group is an innovative graduate program that incorporates anthropology, the arts, history, and language and literature to offer individualized, research-based courses of study that explore cultures in their local manifestations and a global context. Students explore and apply the methods by which historians, literary scholars, anthropologists, artists, philosophers, scholars of cultural studies, and other humanists and social scientists examine societies and cultures. The program exposes students to many humanities professions and trains students to engage the public.

Career Outcomes

IHGG welcomes students planning careers both inside and outside academia. Our alumni are university professors, researchers, teachers, librarians, and government employees. Our graduates are specialists qualified for academic positions in core disciplines and border-crossing programs that know how to communicate with experts and the public.
