In 1988, it was restructured into Tzu Chi Institute of Technology. In order to improve academic standards and strengthen the humanities of students, the school established a general education center and incorporated it into the school organization to become a first-class teaching unit. The center has 1 director who is concurrently served by a teacher or associate professor or above, who coordinates the planning and implementation of the school's general education and humanities education courses; and is divided into three groups: language group, mathematics group, and social group based on the teacher's subject expertise. And set up general education research committees, general education teacher review committees, and other committees in the administrative organization to promote general education and teacher appointment-related matters. In order to respond to changes in the social environment, enhance students' basic general education and liberal arts ability, and strengthen humanistic literacy, the school has set up a general education committee since the first semester of the 101st school year to comprehensively review the school's important general education planning and curriculum development. At the same time, an interdisciplinary Tzu Chi Humanities Program will be set up to enhance the integration of humanistic spirit and departmental majors, so as to cultivate talents with both professional and humanities. On August 1, 104, the school has renamed the University of Science and Technology. In line with the transformation of the school, the General Education Center has renamed the Holistic Education Center and became a college-level teaching unit with three departments: natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, and physical education. unit. After the school was restructured into the Technical College, Assistant Professor Cai Yumei served as the director of the first General Education Center; from August 100 to July 103, Associate Professor Liang Qiaoyan took over; from August 103, Associate Professor Yang Yifeng has been appointed as the director so far.
