Introduction
The programme aims to equip students with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of psychology and enables them to apply this knowledge in various work settings, including social welfare, education and healthcare. Graduates can pursue careers in psychology and related fields as well as further study in professional areas of psychology.
Psychology is the scientific study of human mental processes and behaviour. The discipline embraces all aspects of the human experience — from the functions of the brain to the actions of different people in our society, from child development to the care of our elderly. Through the study of psychology, students would work to understand the above complicated human mental processes and experiences. Throughout the above learning processes, students will enhance their understanding of self and others; polish their communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical abilities; and develop their conflict resolution skills.
Programme Objectives
- To equip students with critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills necessary to conduct scientific studies;
- To develop students’ interpersonal competencies in self-awareness, appreciation and acceptance of individual differences and cultural diversity as well as their commitment to ethical and professional behaviours;
- To facilitate students to apply theories and principles of psychology to individual, societal and global issues;
- To equip students with effective communication skills to tackle the needs in diverse settings;
- To build students’ competencies required for entry into graduate or professional school or for entry into the world of work.
Programme Features

Scholarships and Funding
EduCare@TWC Entrance Scholarships for AY 2025/2026
All local students who enroll in designated programmes and meet the scholarship criteria will be eligible for the entrance scholarship, and the College will inform those students; no additional application is necessary.
The scholarship amounts range from HK$30,000 to HK$60,000. The College will disburse the one-time entrance scholarship to eligible new students enrolling in the first-year or senior year entry of the designated programmes.
According to the College's policy, entrance scholarships will apply to the first year of study, whether for first-year or senior admissions, and they are non-renewable. Eligible students must settle their tuition fees (after deducting NMTSS or SSSDP, if applicable) according to the payment schedule listed by the College. Eligibility may be affected if a student applies for suspension of studies, leave of absence, or deregistration. The College reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if a student applies for suspension of studies, leave of absence, or deregistration before the Scholarship and Award Presentation Ceremony. The ceremony will be held in June 2026, and the scholarships will be disbursed after the ceremony.

- Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to work in social sciences/psychology related fields and settings such as social work and services, public relations and communications, politics, personnel, advertising, management and retail.
- They can take up teaching and research due to their capacity for independent thinking, problem-solving ability and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Graduates of the Programme could further study in a postgraduate programme in Psychology and related disciplines, such as clinical psychology, counselling, educational or organisational psychology or a professional in other specialised fields of psychology.
- Postgraduate training and study is a requirement to become a charted/registered professional psychologist.
