During this bachelor programme, you immerse yourself in the fashion industry with a serious business-oriented approach. The best of both worlds: fashion and business insight! Explore the latest trends and key developments in fashion management, such as sustainability, ethics, e-commerce, diversity, online marketing, and much more. You gain valuable knowledge about textiles and production and participate in workshops and guest lectures on topics like fashion design. Excursions to fashion companies and classes from experienced (guest) lecturers from the industry provide you with a realistic view of the industry.
Fashion programme
This programme focuses on the business side of fashion, providing knowledge on current topics crucial to the fashion industry. These include sustainability, fashion trends, ethics and transparency concerning working conditions, e-commerce, fashion brands, diversity and inclusion, consumer behavior, online marketing, and collaboration with influencers.
This programme also addresses substantive knowledge about:
- Textiles: understanding various fabrics, their properties, production processes, and suitability for different clothing items.
- Sustainability: insight into major developments and changes, such as legislative aspects, related to sustainability in the fashion industry and the ability to identify opportunities in this area.
- Production and technical skills: understanding the clothing production process and the technical aspects of garment construction.

Structure of the academic year
Each academic year consists of two semesters, during which you will take various fashion and business modules. You will also participate in joint modules that will guide you towards a successful career as a business professional. In both your first and second study year, you will do an internship – a perfect opportunity to discover what you want to pursue in the future.
Specialisation Fashion Management
You will follow the ongoing practical programme in Fashion Management. This programme consists of practice-oriented and inspiring sessions, including various company visits, guest lectures, and exciting practical assignments focused on the fashion industry, which you will work on together with fellow students.
During your minor in the final study year, you will further specialise in the world of fashion and business. Afterward, you will commence your graduation project.

When you say fashion, you also say branding. Everything you have learned comes together in the third study year! You will work on an assignment for an existing company in the fashion industry for eleven weeks. Tio offers scholarships to foreign students from the European Union (EU /EEA) and to non-European students for its English study programmes. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year.
Tio super talent scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is 50% of the tuition fee per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have outstanding study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 7.0 or higher, TOEFL iBT score of 95 or higher, PTE Academic of 65 or higher, Cambridge Scale of 200 or higher, Cambridge exam of CAE-A or higher, or CEFR C1 level or higher.
Tio talent scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is 25% of the tuition fee per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have above-average study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT score of 79 or higher, PTE Academic of 58 or higher, Cambridge Scale of 190 or higher, Cambridge exam of CAE-B or higher, or CEFR C1 level or higher.
How to apply for a Tio scholarship
If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, you need to provide Tio with the following information:
- Send your letter of motivation and curriculum vitae in English.
- Attach a letter of recommendation in English from your former (secondary) school.
- Attach a legalised copy of all Higher Education qualifications translated into English.
- Attach a legalised copy of recent mark/grade lists translated into English.
- Attach a legalised copy of your English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge exam).
- Send in a self-made video of yourself of 2-5 minutes, in which you will introduce yourself and tell something about yourself. E.g., why you chose to study at Tio Business School, what makes you most excited about your study programme or about what you expect from living and studying in the Netherlands. Please note: this video will be used for your scholarship application only and will not be used for any other purposes.
After the deadline of July 1st (September enrolment) or November 1st (January enrolment), you will be informed whether or not the scholarship can be awarded. When awarded, the scholarship is paid out as a discount on your tuition fee. All scholarships are subject to availability and are only available for non-Dutch nationality students.
