Passionate about teaching, working with young children, and making a difference in the future of your community? UNC Charlotte’s B.A. in Elementary Education program will prepare you to educate children from kindergarten through Grade 6 and support you in obtaining your teaching license as soon as you graduate! Our expert faculty, variety of coursework, and hands-on teaching opportunities will prepare you to make a significant impact on your students, their families, and the community.
Elementary Education, B.A. at a Glance
The B.A. in Elementary Education program qualifies graduates for Initial Professional Licensure (IPL) in K-6 Elementary Education. In addition to general courses in mathematics, science, English, and history, you will take courses which will assist you in classroom management strategies, addressing varied learning needs, curriculum design, time management skills in the classroom, and various other teaching strategies that can help you maximize your future students’ learning potential. Students complete clinical experiences in elementary school environments each semester of the program to provide authentic application opportunities to deepen learning, and the final semester is a full-time student teaching internship.
