Introduction

The Department of Mathematics at The Mico University College has embarked on a process to be the premier centre for the preparation of teachers of Mathematics education in the Caribbean with the relevant skills necessary to drive human development in the 21st Century.

Pioneering Initiatives

  • EducoSoft (Online Mathematics Course)

EducoSoft serves the entire Mico student-body; establishing for each student a baseline level of mathematical competence required for all teachers.

  • CCEMaT (Caribbean Centre for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching)

CCEMaT is successfully progressing with support from Professor Burghes of the University of Plymouth as well as Professor C. Packer of The Mico University College. This Centre has so far facilitated the audit of mathematics education across some Jamaican colleges. The director of CCEMaT is Dr. T. Benjamin.
