Acquire a Major with a Secondary Major degree in 4 years

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) or Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) is a four-year full-time undergraduate programme offered by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This programme provides a strong foundation in physics while equipping students with interdisciplinary knowledge in either advanced data-driven technologies or entrepreneurial innovation. Students admitted to the Physics with Secondary Major programmes will complete a common first-year curriculum before selecting their preferred secondary major—Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) or Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE)—in Year Two. Upon fulfilling all graduation requirements, students will be awarded one of the following degrees:

  • BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics
  • BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Programme Highlights

  • Dual Expertise: Students graduate with a primary major in Physics and a secondary major in either AIDA or IE, combining scientific rigor with practical, industry-relevant skills
  • Comprehensive Curriculum: A common first-year curriculum ensures solid grounding in physics before specialization in Year 2
  • Experiential Learning: Opportunities for laboratory work, internships, and global exchange programmes enhance academic and professional development
  • Skill Development: Emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication to prepare graduates for diverse career paths
