Introduction
Standard 18+ English Language course is an intensive course that teaches all elements (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) of the English language.
Grammar and Pronunciation (gp)
This is a daily handout with short descriptions of the grammar points and the pronunciation of specific words based on student requirements detected in the previous day's class.
Personalized Sentence Analysis (PSA)
This is a daily handout with a list of sentences from the student's conversations the previous day. These are each individually corrected by the students, guided by the teacher.
Revision
This is a document with exercises on each of the grammar points discussed during the week and listed on the 5 gps, including the conjugation of tenses, new vocabulary, and new expressions. The final section on the Revision, personalized sentence analysis, requires students to create questions to which the answers are the corrected sentences from the daily PSAs. This last section is designed to ensure that the students remember the correct version of their originally incorrect sentence constructions. The purpose of the weekly revision is to aid the students in remembering everything theyโve learned during each week at Codrington.
Weekly Audios
Pronunciation audios are sent to each student at the end of each week, with the correct pronunciation of each word originally incorrectly pronounced by the students. Each word is pronounced twice with spaces in between, so as to allow the students to repeat the word and correct it if miss pronounced the first time.
Personal audios are those created by each student after each unit has been completed from the student course book. It is a summary of each unit in the students' own words. These are also sent to the students at the end of each week. Depending on the number of units completed each week, this could be one or two audios per student.
