Key Summary
The Master of Science in Quality and Business Excellence (MSQBE) provides the skills necessary for today’s dynamic business environment. The MSQBE program provides students with an in-depth understanding of international quality frameworks, issues in business excellence, the various quality award frameworks, and their practical applications in the workplace. Graduates will be able to implement practical approaches and techniques of quality and business excellence to address market needs in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and abroad.
This program supports the pillars of the Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision, especially those directed at the promotion of a large, empowered private sector and a sustainable knowledge-based economy. The degree provides the underpinning knowledge to students wishing to follow a career in the fields of quality and business excellence.
The MSQBE program has specific goals related to the study of quality management and business excellence, which are to develop graduates:
- abilities to utilise relevance concepts and theories of quality assurance and quality management.
- knowledge and skills to apply problem-solving skills to a variety of strategic quality and business excellence scenarios.
- competencies to apply the principles of business excellence to meet the requirements of quality frameworks.
- responsibility to select appropriate quality tools and techniques and explain their suitability within the organisation’s context
Outstanding Scholarships
Offered to undergraduate applicants with outstanding academic records. Applicants would need to demonstrate evidence of achieving at least an average of 98% or above in their Secondary School Certificate and an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Successful students shall be eligible to have their tuition for the first Semester waived.
Merit Scholarships
Offered to applicants with exceptional academic records. For graduate students to apply, students must show evidence of achieving at least an undergraduate CGPA of 3.50 and an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Successful students are eligible to receive up to 30% off tuition. For undergraduate students, students would need to demonstrate evidence of achieving at least an average of 95% or above in their Secondary School Certificate and an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher. Successful students shall be eligible to receive up to a 50% reduction in tuition for the first Semester.
Excellence Scholarships
Offered to applicants with excellent academic records. For graduate students to apply, students must show evidence of achieving an undergraduate CGPA between 3.20 to 3.49 and an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Successful students shall be eligible to receive up to 25% off tuition. For undergraduate students, students must demonstrate achieving at least an average of 90% or above in their Secondary School Certificate and an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher. Successful students shall be eligible to receive up to a 30% reduction in tuition for the first semester.
Good Standing Scholarships
Offered to undergraduate applicants with good academic records, as follows:
- Students who demonstrate evidence of achieving at least an average of 85% or above in their Secondary School Certificate and an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher shall be eligible to receive up to a 20% reduction in tuition for the first semester.
- Students who demonstrate evidence of achieving at least an average of 75% or above in their Secondary School Certificate and an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher shall be eligible to receive up to a 10% reduction in tuition for the first semester.

Full-time students will be able to complete the program in 15 months by taking one to three courses in each of five consecutive terms.
The Research Methods course (QTY 8111) must be taken during the first term of enrolment in the program. To ensure a consistent student experience, the optimal sequence is determined based on the students’ intake, noting that ADSM normally has two intakes for the MSQBE program in the Fall and Spring Terms of each academic year.
