This care is provided by families and communities, through outpatient services, clinics and other health facilities.

The continuum of care recognizes that safe childbirth is essential to the health of women and newborns and that a healthy start in life is an essential step toward a healthy childhood and productive life. The main intention is to enable participants to better understand, be aware of and demonstrate greater empathy towards the health needs and issues of women and children around the world.
