Introduction
Engineering has been one of the great enablers of progress in modern society, since it has allowed us to transcend the natural limits of the human being. Currently there are highly demanding circumstances, such as overpopulation, increasing pressures on natural resources, hyper-connected societies and innovations that are spreading around the globe in less and less time; Faced with this panorama, there is a growing need to prepare specialists in the engineering area with a broader and more analytical vision, essential to move towards a modern society based on illustration, knowledge and critical dialogue.
The Master of Science in Engineering (MCI) seeks to address this challenge, training researchers and professionals with a research focus, who have a strategic vision to identify and solve important problems and the ability to generate innovations. This postgraduate degree allows the student to specialize in any of the following lines:
- Clean energy and sustainable use of water
- Mechatronics and advanced manufacturing, including robotics and control
- Industrial engineering
- Telecommunications

The objective of the Master of Science in Engineering is to train specialists with the potential to become agents of change for the industrial and academic sectors, taking leadership in strategic areas, with the ability to carry out applied research, technological development and technology transfer in the areas of engineering. In addition to granting the possibility of entering a doctorate in engineering sciences.
Graduate profile
The student will be able to acquire and strengthen the following skills:
Conceptual competences
- Show a high level of fundamental engineering knowledge, including mathematics, statistics, and computers.
- Mastering the theory and methodology of Engineering Sciences in any professional situation.
Procedural competences
- Model and develop solutions to problems using appropriate mathematical language and technology.
- Carry out research, which provides new relevant knowledge, under the supervision of the direct advisor and the thesis committee, communicating the results clearly, effectively and efficiently.
Attitudinal skills
- Work in your area of expertise with leadership in an efficient, collaborative and ethical manner.
- Have a proactive and creative attitude to undocumented problems, generating innovations.
