Research in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering is conducted by 19 senior faculty members, seven professors emeriti, 18 research associates, between five and 10 post-doctorates, about 40 Ph.D. students, and about six MSc students.
The M.Sc. degree is intended for candidates who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree, earned a minimum grade point average of 84, and fulfilled Technion's general requirements for graduate studies. Acceptance to the program is subject to an interview, in which the candidate's level of relevant knowledge will be assessed. In addition, the committee for advanced degrees may consider the candidate's ranking.
MSc and Ph.D. students are eligible for a full subsistence scholarship (with a waiver of tuition).
Details about eligibility, the duration, and the conditions of the scholarships are according to the Graduate School’s procedures. The sum of the scholarship is uniform. Outstanding BSc graduates are eligible for an additional scholarship during their graduate studies.
