Introduction
PhD in Applied Mechanics
The doctoral study program in applied mechanics focuses on independent scientific and research projects in the field of mechanics.
The PhD program aims to produce highly-educated and creative graduates capable of taking part in scientific, research and professional applications of the laws of mechanics in mechanical engineering.
PhD graduates will have mastered the skills and theoretical knowledge in advanced mechanics. Graduates will have a thorough understanding of engineering mechanics, mechanics of rigid and pliable bodies, and mechanics of liquids and thermodynamics. Furthermore, they are familiar with the research methods in the field of applied mechanics and capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis, thus able to discuss the results of their investigations and to extend the sum of the current knowledge in a professional way worth of publishing and sharing with other members of the professional community both in their country and abroad.
Upon successful completion of the study program, graduates will acquire positions in both theoretical and applied research areas or as experts in the teams of industrial development centers and major research institutions. Due to their profound knowledge and professional approaches, graduates will also have opportunities as lecturers in universities across the world.
