The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN), an “Advanced Research and Education” awarded university, is today a tertiary education institution with a long-standing tradition, national and international recognition.

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN), an “Advanced Research and Education” awarded university, is today a tertiary education institution with a long-standing tradition, national and international recognition. TUCN comprises twelve faculties in the two academic centres, Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, and programme locations in Alba-Iulia, Bistrita, Satu Mare, and Zalau. The educational offer, aligned to the Bologna system, includes bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as lifelong learning programs. These cover a wide range of domains, from engineering, architecture, fundamental sciences, to social sciences, humanities, and arts. In addition to these, the TUCN organizes and conducts lifelong learning activities and programs. TUCN is a member of the European University of Technology (EUT+) Alliance.

    Study Visa Extension for Non-EU Citizens

    Issuing institution: Cluj County Immigration Service (CCIS) of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (GII)

    In order to obtain a registration number, the application may be submitted online. The required documents shall then be submitted directly to the Cluj County Immigration Service on the date set as a result of the online registration process.

    • Submitting applications: Monday to Friday from 10:00 - 12:00
    • Issuing documents: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 14:00 - 16:30, Wednesday from 14:00 - 18:30

    Documents required from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca

    • Letter of AcceptanceME Order, or Tuition Approval in copy - available upon request at the International Relations Office.
    • Certificate issued by the Faculty Secretariat, including the following data: citizenship, the financial conditions of the enrollment according to the Letter of Acceptance, ME Order or Tuition Approval, study cycle, year of study, length of studies, and the final academic year of studies.
    • Residence document (original and copy) – in case you are living in the university campus, this can be obtained from the dorm administrator.

    Important notice: Any change that may occur in your official residence status in Romania must be reported to CCIS and to IRO.
