Introduction

The Tamkang University's International Trade Department has proudly participated and evidenced the entire process of the economic development of our country turning from an autarky agricultural nation into an outward-oriented large newly industrialized economy, and later on into one of the major home countries of many foreign investment projects in the world economy. The Department of International Trade, following this changing wave, has also worked very hard and succeeded her tradition to contribute the training task of the human resources required for the economic development of our country under the name of the Department of International Business in August 2010.

Under the direction of Tamkang University’s Triple objectives: Globalization, Information-oriented Education, and Future-oriented Education, Master’s Program of International Business is contributing in educating and researching in areas of International economics and law, international marketing and other aspects of international business, including international financial management and organizational behavior. We have developed courses from the very basics to advanced levels in our undergraduate program and master program for young men from all over the world. We have also established two executive master programs in business administration (the EMBA Programs) to provide on the job training for those who are seeking self-improvements as part of our efforts to serve the society.

The graduate program on international business was set up in 1992.

The Department has revised the core curriculum courses. It provides three main types of professional courses, the courses can look forward to a whole combination of theory and practice to meet the needs of students with diverse needs of the workplace competitiveness.

i. There is group A (2 classes), group B (1 class), and the Institute of International Business Master's three academic classes and the "financial law", "Commercial Finance" which two kinds of credits.


ii. The professional curriculum is divided into international business and international economics and trade fields, the former International Business Management, International Financial Management, International Marketing, as the main subject.


iii. Groups A and B have a separate credit line, " group A" in the second and third year were selected for Commercial International Marketing of English and two courses in English, and the strengthening the English proficiency of students and encourages students to elective group A Group B courses. "Group B," will use English as the medium of instruction and is required to attend junior year abroad credits.


iv. According to a survey conducted by graduate students in Group B due to the year abroad program, have a better level of education than those of group A and therefore have more job opportunities.


v. "The Institute of International Business Master" academic students were divided into two groups: A group of courses focused on International Business Management Marketing and Financial Management. The alumni graduated since these implementations have become some of the industry's favorite.


vi. The Department requires graduates from, and after year 97 to pass the TOEFL, TOEIC or another English test.
