    About : The Master of Arts in Documentary Film is designed to prepare students for creative and critical engagement in the documentary filmmaking landscape. This program focuses on developing practical skills in filmmaking, as well as theoretical knowledge. It allows students to explore a diverse mix of topics, including storytelling and production techniques, to create compelling narratives through the documentary medium.
    Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue various career paths in the film industry, such as documentary filmmaker, editor, producer, or cinematographer. This program equips students with the skills necessary for success in broadcast, digital media, and independent film production.

Introduction

The Documentary MA program is focused on the auteur concept of the creative documentary. During the two-year studies, the students are guided to find their author’s voice and develop their factual storytelling skills. Each student creates a short documentary each semester.

At Tallinn University it is possible to do that in a multicultural environment together with lecturers and coursemates from different countries. On a daily basis, our students are able to use a studio complex with modern TV, film, and editing equipment.
