Key Summary
The Educational Innovation and Leadership Master’s Programme at Tallinn University is dedicated to advancing education through evidence-based improvements and practical innovation. Our goal is clear: to empower and equip future leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to effect meaningful change in educational settings, whether in classrooms, policy development, or community engagement.
Structured around a hands-on curriculum, the programme ensures you’re well-versed in the latest educational strategies and technologies. From the beginning, you’ll engage in projects that challenge you to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This approach not only enhances your understanding but also prepares you to lead and implement change effectively.
We welcome individuals from all educational backgrounds who share a passion for transforming education. Whether you aim to be a school leader, teacher, policymaker, or advocate for non-formal education, your drive to make a difference is what counts. Our programme is about more than just acquiring knowledge; it’s about applying that knowledge to create better educational outcomes for all.
Course Outline
The first year of the EduInno Master's Programme is spent in Estonia. During this time, you'll attend lectures and seminars and go on study visits to get a real feel for how innovative education works here. It's all about getting you familiar with what's being done at the forefront of educational change.
In your third semester, things get hands-on with your own educational innovation project. This is where you put what you've learned into action by tackling a practical challenge in education. You could be improving existing methods or creating something new to benefit the classroom or educational programme, either back in your home country or still in Estonia. Though you'll be working independently, you’ll be back in Tallinn for a few sessions to touch base and get guidance.
The final stretch of the programme is when you write and defend your Master’s thesis. It's your chance to dive deep into a topic that matters to you and demonstrate the skills and knowledge you've picked up.
Our programme's courses are grouped into three main modules focusing on how education meets psychology, the use of technology in teaching and learning, and educational leadership.
- Educational Innovation (24 ECTS)
- Research and Analytics (24 ECTS)
- Leadership and Management (18 ECTS)
Our graduates have gone on to become staples in both formal and non-formal education as school leaders, teachers, policymakers, or non-formal education specialists and governmental employees.
