Key Summary

About: The Associate in Nursing, DTA/MRP program offers comprehensive training in nursing principles and practices. This program prepares students for a career in nursing through a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Upon completion, graduates can pursue licensure as registered nurses, aligning with industry standards and state requirements.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can explore various career opportunities, including roles as registered nurses in hospitals, clinics, and community health organizations. There may also be options in specialty fields such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or critical care nursing, depending on the individual's interests and further qualifications.

Introduction

This transfer degree is intended to prepare students for licensure as a registered nurse, as well as for entry into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) completion degree. Although this associate's degree will be granted to SVC nursing students with a cumulative 3.0 GPA, entry into a BSN program may require a higher GPA for admission. Minimum GPA requirements are established by each receiving institution. Meeting SVC’s minimum GPA requirements does not guarantee admission into a BSN program. Students should contact potential receiving institutions directly regarding their specific GPA requirements.

Note: SVC has not determined that the Nursing curriculum meets educational requirements for licensure/certification outside of Washington State. Students who plan to work in locations outside of Washington should check local state licensure and certification requirements.
