Commercial Licence Pilot Course

Ground school classes prepare you for the written exam. Classes are recommended for all potential pilots. The course material simplifies the theory of flight and explains topics as diverse as aircraft structure, engine operations, and how to interpret meteorological conditions. Other integral parts of the program include interpreting Canadian air law and developing navigational skills. Second Career training is specially designed to help laid-off Ontarians participate in long-term training for a new job and may be available to pilots who hold a Private Pilot Licence. Whether you want to fly recreationally or become a Commercial Pilot, the St. Thomas Flight Centre is big enough to serve you and small enough to care!

Skill

• Applicant must pass a flight test with a pilot examiner
• Applicant must have completed 150 hours of flight training prior to admission to flight test

Knowledge

• Applicant must obtain not less than 60% on Transport Canada exam (CPAER)
• Applicant shall have completed 40 hours of ground school and 100 hours flight time prior to writing exam

Privileges

The holder of a Commercial Pilot Licence may (a) exercise the privileges of a Private Pilot Licence (b) exercise the privileges of a VFR OTT rating (c) while engaged in providing a commercial air service act as pilot-in-command.
