Introduction
BSc IS & Management
The study of information systems relates to how organizations and societies use and exploit new information and communication technologies (ICT). Emphasis is on the organizational and societal aspects of the efforts organizations make in order to accommodate ICT, change their practices, and achieve benefits.
Who is it for?
This degree is designed for a wide range of students including those who:
• Want to study information systems as technical and social
phenomena;
• Would like to gain the skills needed by managers to solve organizational and business problems using ICT;
• Wish to gain a thorough understanding of how organizations and societies use and exploit new information and communication technologies (ICT).
Features of the Degree
This degree is particularly focused on how computers are used within business and administrative organizations. It is natural, therefore, to combine the study of information systems with the study of management in equal doses. This degree is structured to mesh the academic knowledge and not a combination of two disparate disciplines into a degree programme. Students are exposed to the organization and its mechanisms clearly defining the impact of IS in the modern organization.
