Key Summary
About: Spokane Falls Community College’s Associate in Business (DTA/MRP) is a two-year transfer pathway covering freshman and sophomore business courses plus general education (English, science). You’ll study economics, accounting and business law and complete credits that transfer to Eastern Washington University (EWU) or other universities. Meet an advisor to choose the right articulation. Spokane Colleges provides a cost-effective pathway for international students.
Career Outcomes: Graduates may enter roles such as Sales Manager, Administrative Services Manager, Purchasing Manager, Management Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, General and Operations Manager and related positions in marketing, accounting, operations and analytics and consultancy and project roles.
If you plan to earn a bachelor’s degree in business, Spokane Falls Community College is a great place to start.
You’ll complete the first two years of classes required to transfer as a junior into a business program at a four-year college or university. You’ll fulfill general education requirements—such as science and English—while also taking freshman- and sophomore-level business courses in topics such as economics, accounting and business law.
This page contains the information for two different degree programs:
- If you plan to transfer to EWU, your best option is the Associate in Arts DTA degree with an emphasis in Business. EWU and SFCC have agreed that these hand-selected courses will best transfer to a business-related major at EWU.
- If you're transferring to a university other than EWU the Associate in Business DTA/MRP is the right path for you.
Both programs ensure your credits transfer smoothly for a business-related major. Please see an advisor for additional information, and to choose the one that best fits your goals and transfer destination.
Whether you want a career in business administration, accounting, management, marketing or other area of business, this program will provide the foundation you need to continue pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business.

Spokane College Foundation
Last year, Spokane Colleges Foundation awarded scholarships to 203 students to cover the costs of tuition and books, as well as 452 emergency aid awards to help with testing costs, program fees, and emergency needs.
The Foundation has over 100 scholarships that open each January, as well as others that open for applications in the summer.
The first step to applying for scholarships is to complete our general scholarship application.
Once completed, you’ll be entered into our general scholarship pool to be considered for those scholarships open to all SCC and SFCC students. You’ll also be alerted to additional scholarship opportunities which you may qualify for based on the responses you provided. Many of these opportunities require additional information but have fewer applicants because they have very specific criteria. We encourage you to take the time to apply for all scholarships for which you qualify to increase your chances of receiving an award.
Grants & Sponsored Research
Some of the most innovative programs at Spokane Colleges are made possible through grant and sponsored research funding. We’ve cultivated opportunities in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, provided middle school girls with STEM summer camps, served our community through sustainable environmental science projects, and collaborated with rural K-12 partners on college and career readiness initiatives. Take a look at the stories and learn about opportunities for students and faculty to create new and innovative programs with help from Grants & Sponsored Research at Spokane Colleges.
