Key Summary
About : The Bachelor’s of Aerospace/Aviation Sciences (BSAS) program provides students with a solid foundation in aviation and aerospace principles. You'll explore areas like aerodynamics, aircraft systems, and aviation safety over the duration of the program. This degree is designed to prepare you for various roles in the aviation industry, focusing on both practical and theoretical aspects.
Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue careers in various sectors, including commercial aviation, aerospace engineering, and air traffic control. Potential job titles include aerospace engineer, aviation safety inspector, or flight operations manager. The program supports students in developing essential skills for these roles.
The Bachelor’s of Aviation science is a four-year degree and is the only aviation degree at SUU. It's the recommended degree for both helicopter and airplane students. Because it is approved for FAA Restricted ATP, this degree is very advantageous for fixed-wing students. That means by completing this bachelor’s degree you only need 1000 flight hours (rather than 1500) to take your ATP check ride. This is a typical entry point into an airline pilot job. By completing this bachelor’s you save time and can potentially get an airline job sooner.
