You’ll choose an optional module and complete a work-based learning module that focuses on the event sector of your interest. You’ll be supported by our teaching team, who have a variety of professional backgrounds.
The placement option (September starts only) offers you an additional opportunity to develop your practical skills, either in the UK or abroad. We run employability workshops to help you gain a placement and we have a dedicated placement team to support you. You’ll have access to placement opportunities at organizations such as the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Martins Food Ltd, Gleneagles Hotel and Resort, Wanlin Dance School, and the World Duty-Free Group.
Live projects
Every year there are around 300 large events to get involved in across Yorkshire – sports, culture, festivals, arts, and more. We’ve established a solid relationship with their organizers, so you’ll have the chance to work, volunteer, or look behind the scenes at most of these events.
Our students have been involved in events such as the Grand Depart for the Tour De France, the Children's Media Conference, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and Sheffield's Chinese New Year celebrations.
Networking opportunities
We maintain strong links with the event community. We’re also the founders of the Events Hub – an informal and friendly community where practitioners can come together to share experiences and ideas and to learn from others.
