With the rapid evolution of smart manufacturing, robotics and industrial automation, we are proud to launch the Bachelor of Science in mechatronics engineering technology in fall 2025.
This program will prepare students to lead at the forefront of industrialization and manufacturing, combining advanced technologies and skilled technologists. Students will benefit from small class sizes, personalized instruction with dedicated faculty and access to cutting-edge technology in SFA’s state-of-the-art Cole STEM Building.
SFA’s mechatronics engineering technology program is built for students who want to solve real-world problems using mechanical systems, electronics and intelligent control. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience with the tools and technologies used in modern manufacturing and robotics.

- Industrial control systems (PLCs)
- Robotics and automated systems
- Digital electronics and embedded systems
- Mechanical design and fabrication
- Computer numerical control (CNC) machining and manufacturing processes
You’ll gain practical skills in programming robotic arms, integrating sensors, operating CNC equipment and designing systems that bring machines to life. With a focus on applied learning, you'll graduate ready to contribute from day one.
