Introduction

This programme of study allows the student to develop a foundation for understanding, implementing and making rational decisions about contemporary networking technologies. It addresses both intentional and accidental hazards, as well as threats facing mainframe computer systems and networks. It also shows how to detect and prevent these hazards and how to minimize potential losses caused by fraud and/or human error.
