The pre-pharmacy transfer program is designed for students interested in a transferable degree that provides appropriate science content and competencies that will help them as they pursue further study in the field of pharmacy. The pre-pharmacy program provides general education courses at the freshman and sophomore levels, with an emphasis on the sciences, in preparation for admission to a university doctoral pharmacy program. Admission to university doctoral pharmacy programs is highly competitive and the transferring institution must be consulted for additional pre-admission requirements.
This program outline provides the framework for a pre-pharmacy program, but it does not represent a final academic plan for any specific four-year college or university. Students need to be aware that many health professional educational programs require background screening. Students who satisfactorily complete all college and program requirements qualify for an Associate in Science degree.
Completion of the pre-pharmacy program does not guarantee admission into a transfer institution’s pharmacy program.
