Master in Leadership and Human Resources Management

Introduction

The courses of the Master’s in Leadership and Human Resources Management are provided at the Faculty of Humanities (FLSH) of Saint-Joseph University (USJ), Human Sciences Campus, located on Damascus Road, in the heart of Beirut.

The teaching languages are French, English, and Arabic. Either of these languages is used, according to the curriculum and the teaching unit.

The training is provided by more than 20 teachers-researchers and professionals from Lebanese and foreign enterprises. Moreover, external speakers coming from the most prestigious universities worldwide, namely the French ones, are invited on regular basis.

The Master’s in Leadership and HRM, is a pioneer diploma in its field in Lebanon, providing training ever since it was founded by the USJ in 1997. Since that time it trained the majority of the HR managers and professionals acting in Lebanon as well as the Middle East and the Gulf areas. Among its graduates are the HR managers of several prestigious Lebanese and multinational corporations.

The program

The students of the Master can choose between 2 curricula, the French language or the English language one.

The Master’s in Leadership and Human Resources Management is composed of 100 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) as course requirements in addition to a 20 ECTS thesis. Classes are normally delivered 3 afternoons a week in addition to few intensive all-day sessions. The program aims at providing HR professionals with the necessary knowledge as well as the know-how to respond to the needs of the market.

Company internship

The internship is integrated within the academic curriculum of each student; it aims at allowing him/her to put his/her academic tools, both conceptual and professional into practice in order to strengthen his/her professional competences.

Double diploma

In December 2018, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities signed an agreement of exchange and double diploma with the CELSA Sorbonne Université (L’École des Hautes études en sciences de l'information et de la communication) for the Master in leadership and human resources management.

Some students shall be selected annually to attend their 2nd year of Master’s in France and receive their Master’s from CELSA as well as from USJ. The exchange also includes CELSA-USJ professors and researchers.

Entry Requirements

The candidate must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in any specialty. Even though there is no admission test, the candidate must demonstrate a high level of interest in HR through an interview with the Master’s Director. Professional experience in the field is a plus.

Tuition and Fees

The Master’s in Leadership and Human Resources Management is composed of 120 ECTS. The cost of the credit varies from year to another; it is currently 178 $. Consequently, the total tuition fees are 21,360 $. Several forms of financial aid are available for either the total or the partial amount of the tuition fees.

Doctoral studies opening

A doctoral cycle in Leadership and Human Resources Management has been started recently and several doctoral candidates are already writing their theses. Students who showed a high level of academic and professional performance can apply for doctoral studies. Acceptance is based on the study of the candidate’s file.
