Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation Programme

This programme is for you if you are:

• Considering taking the first step in developing a successful venture and want to explore or develop your business idea.
• Eager to learn alongside a cohort of peers and get feedback on your venture’s product-market fit.

You’ll walk away with:

• A complete pitch deck for your venture, with the confidence to communicate and present your business idea and leadership vision to potential stakeholders.
• Knowledge of your strengths as an entrepreneur using the Gallup talent-based assessment tool, enabling you to form a complementary founder team.
• The skills to identify business opportunities, value propositions, and customer needs, and the knowledge to develop a business model and plan that addresses these.
• Access to expert insights from a host of successful entrepreneurs and Oxford faculty, in-depth feedback on your venture pitch, and interactive live sessions.

Over the duration of this online programme, you’ll work through the following modules:

• Module 1: Identifying business opportunities
  Gain insight into the process of developing ideas, which marks the start of the entrepreneurial journey.
• Module 2: Understanding your entrepreneurial talents
  Explore the mindsets and motivations that contribute to entrepreneurial success and the importance of assembling a complementary team.
• Module 3: Analysing customers and markets
  Learn how to perform market analysis and identify potential customers for your venture.
• Module 4: Crafting a business model
  Gain insight into how revenue, core activities, and competition influence a company’s business model.
• Module 5: Launching a venture
  Construct a development plan for launching your venture and ensuring product-market fit.
• Module 6: Pitching a venture
  Consider how to share your entrepreneurial vision with external stakeholders.

Will I have the time?

GetSmarter's learning model is designed to help you, as a working professional, improve your skills without compromising on work and family responsibilities. The programme work is broken up into weekly, manageable modules, with incremental deadlines, designed to help you pace yourself over the duration of the programme, and allow you the flexibility to work when it suits you best.

At the beginning of each week, you'll be presented with all the lectures, notes, and assignments necessary for completion. Once registered you’ll be assigned a personal Success Manager. You will have access to your Success Manager, who will help you set goals and track key milestones, manage your time, and field any administrative requests you might have.

What is the online campus?

The Online Campus (OLC) will be your virtual classroom for the duration of your programme. Through its easy-to-use interface, you'll have access to a diverse variety of programme content formats, including interactive video lectures, module notes, practice quizzes, Prezis, assignment briefs, and additional web resources.

On the Online Campus, you'll also be able to ask questions and interact with your fellow students and Head Tutor through the OLC discussion forums. If you're experiencing tech issues or need advice from your personal Success Manager, you can use the OLC to get in touch.
