This open enrolment programme aims to bridge the gap between business and technology and is designed for managers and business leaders across multiple functions and industries looking to understand the possibilities, and limitations, of artificial intelligence. It is also highly relevant to technical experts such as CIOs, IT managers, and business analysts looking to better understand how to implement AI within their organisations.

You’ll walk away with:

• The ability to identify and assess the possibilities for AI in your organisation and build a business case for its implementation.
• A strong conceptual understanding of the technologies behind AI such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, and algorithms.
• Insight from Oxford Saïd faculty and a host of industry experts, helping you to develop an informed opinion about AI and its social and ethical implications.
• A contextual understanding of AI, its history, and its evolution, helps you to make relevant predictions for its future trajectory.

Over the duration of this online programme, you’ll work through the following modules:

• Module 1: Artificial intelligence ecosystem
  Explore the history and potential of AI within the context of the digital ecosystem.
• Module 2: AI and machine learning: Understanding the black box
  Delve into the mechanics of the three main types of machine learning: supervised, reinforcement, and unsupervised learning.
• Module 3: Understanding deep learning and neural networks
  Understand what deep learning is and how it is powering the modern approach to AI.
• Module 4: Working with intelligent machines
  Explore the concept of intelligence in machines and the impact of AI in the labour market.
• Module 5: The ethics of artificial intelligence
  Explore the hierarchy of ethical and legal considerations around AI.
• Module 6: How to drive AI in your business
  Identify the potential business opportunity of AI in a specific context.

This programme does not require technical skills or the ability to code.

Will I have the time?

GetSmarter's learning model is designed to help you, as a working professional, improve your skills without compromising on work and family responsibilities. The programme work is broken up into weekly, manageable modules, with incremental deadlines, designed to help you pace yourself over the duration of the programme, and allow you the flexibility to work when it suits you best.

At the beginning of each week, you'll be presented with all the lectures, notes, and assignments necessary for completion. Once registered you’ll be assigned a personal Success Manager. You will have access to your Success Manager, who will help you set goals and track key milestones, manage your time, and field any administrative requests you might have.

What is the online campus?

The Online Campus (OLC) will be your virtual classroom for the duration of your programme. Through its easy-to-use interface, you'll have access to a diverse variety of programme content formats, including interactive video lectures, module notes, practice quizzes, Prezis, assignment briefs, and additional web resources.

On the Online Campus, you'll also be able to ask questions and interact with your fellow students and Head Tutor through the OLC discussion forums. If you're experiencing tech issues or need advice from your personal Success Manager, you can use the OLC to get in touch.
