Introduction
The Master's Degree in Environmental Economics, Work and Sustainable Development aims to provide advanced knowledge in the fields of sustainable management of economic activities, promotion of virtuous processes of economic development in both industrialized and developing countries, planning and enhancement of the territory, sustainable management of business activities, management of changes in the field of work and welfare induced by the green and digital transition, development of new sectors of the green economy, all with a view to activating circular economy processes and diffusion of new green technologies.
The course lasts two years and is divided into three paths:
Environment and Sustainable Business
The objective of the path is to train professionals able to analyze and manage, on an economic-social, institutional, administrative and corporate level, the issues and problems related to environmental, social and economic sustainability. The path addresses the issues related to the ecological transition and the green economy, the environmental impact of economic growth processes, the functioning of the circular economy and the diffusion of new green technologies. Students will be able to read and interpret quantitative information for monitoring the use of natural resources and environmental impacts, as well as for evaluating the economic impacts of natural resource management policies. At the same time, the program integrates economic training with preparation for business management, with a view to training professionals capable of supporting complex decision-making processes related to sustainability in microeconomic contexts, such as private entrepreneurship, management of public administration apparatus or promotion of the territory;
Global Development
The course aims to provide the conceptual, methodological and analytical tools to address the issues of economic development in all its aspects, with reference to both the problems of developing countries and those of development in industrialized or post-industrial countries, from an environmental, social and ethical sustainability perspective, and to outline intervention policies, at both micro and macro levels, aimed at stimulating virtuous phenomena of economic growth and human development. The aim of the course is to train professionals capable of addressing, analyzing and managing, on an economic-social, institutional and administrative level, the issues and problems relating to the development and planning of sustainable development policies on an international scale. The course, taught entirely in English, allows students to acquire highly professional skills, enriched by cultural exchange with students of various nationalities.
Technological Change, Labour and Welfare
The course aims to offer advanced training aimed at addressing the various economic issues that emerge in the field of work and welfare in current and future economic scenarios characterized by technological change induced by the green and digital transition. The aim is to provide the tools and skills of economic theory and analysis, business organization, quantitative methods and legal nature that allow us to analyze and interpret the dynamics and specific problems emerging in these fields. These skills will be developed in an integrated and multidisciplinary perspective to provide the conceptual tools necessary to understand and manage the economic, relational and institutional phenomena and dynamics related to work and welfare. Seminar activities, exercises, project works, teaching laboratories based on the learning by-doing method and possible internships will contribute to enriching the educational offer of this path.

Thanks to the skills acquired during the Degree Course, the Master's graduate will have the ability to:

- manage human resources and develop the value of human capital;
- manage collective relations, collective negotiation and organized representation of the interests of businesses, workers and female workers;
- evaluate and manage the integration of public welfare and private welfare;
- prepare interventions and activlabouror policies and adjustment of human capital in economic and social transitions;
- design, program and manage public and private employment services.
