Introduction
Are you passionate about engineering and want to pave the way for a more sustainable future?
The RTU Environmental Engineering bachelor’s programme prepares students to become highly skilled professionals ready to address pressing environmental issues, both in the private and public sectors.
With a cross-sectoral approach, the programme emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, and students gain valuable insights into innovative pollution prevention technologies, sustainable economic development, and climate solutions while learning from top-tier academic and scientific experts in the fields of environmental engineering, energy, and sustainable resource management.
The programme is designed to equip graduates with the systemic thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to adapt global technologies to local contexts, create innovative solutions for resource use, and contribute to the ongoing development of environmental and climate technologies.
Why Environmental Engineering at RTU?
Environmental engineers bear tremendous responsibility and are essential for the proper functioning of society, developing the technological innovations needed to safeguard, improve, and optimise our infrastructure and implementing sustainable solutions to modern-day challenges. They design systems that produce safe drinking water, mitigate air pollution, solve waste management, and tackle the impacts of natural disasters.
RTU has defined sustainability as a cornerstone value of our policies and uses it as a guiding principle for our initiatives to ensure we have a positive impact on climate and society. Our dedication to the cause has been recognised on the global stage and is exemplified in our ranking as the 40th greenest university in the world (GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024).
The RTU advantage:
- Gain access to our modern facilities, including the best-equipped prototyping workshop in the Baltic states and impressive supercomputing resources, and take advantage of our next-generation equipment.
- Learn from world-class faculty and dedicated research mentors and expand your academic horizons through study-abroad opportunities.
- Build a global network by studying alongside students from 98 countries, engaging in industry events, and participating in student-led innovation initiatives that connect you to the future of engineering.
