Key Summary
Introduction
Are you an ambitious professional wishing to transform your career? Our MBA is aimed at developing you into a global leader who makes an immediate impact in business. You will learn to manage complex challenges, from getting the most out of your team to providing innovative solutions for a broad range of businesses, and gain one of the most respected degrees in the world.
The Richmond MBA is offered on a full-time, 12 or 16 month basis or part-time over two years on a flexible, day-time schedule. Both programmes can be started in September or January.
Study one programme, gain two degrees. Richmond uniquely awards a UK and US qualification for all graduates, including MBA students.
Our MBA will provide you with a thorough grasp of financial management, business economics and how to manage both organisations and people. You’ll move on to examine the principles of strategic management, how to implement global marketing strategies and conduct business research. Choose specialisms from a fascinatingly diverse range of electives, including ethical marketing and sustainable business; leading, mentoring and coaching and entrepreneurship and innovation management. You’ll then be able to choose the topic for your professional project, with or without an internship.
The MBA faculty team at Richmond, which includes both academics and experienced industry professionals, is collaborative and supportive. They practice the latest teaching methods which stimulate critical thinking and creativity and encourage you to explore boundaries in your thinking and actions.
Learning alongside an international cohort of students will also enable you to share fresh perspectives on similar problems and build lasting business networks.
Students can gain accreditation by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for some of the content on this programme. CIM is the leading professional body for marketers worldwide. Find more details here.

Program delivery
Each course typically involves three to four contact hours per week over a 12-week semester, except the Research Project or Extended Research Project in the Summer semester which require self-directed learning with academic supervision, and the internship which requires part-time work placement for two-three months (minimum of 200 hours).
The balance of assessment by examination, practical assessment and assessment by coursework will vary for each programme and will also depend on the optional electives you choose each year and may be subject to change. The methods of assessment can involve the use of term-papers, portfolios of work, quizzes, mid-semester and final exams as well as student presentations and general class discussion. Not every component applies to every course, but most do relate to many of the classes that are offered. Many of our courses involve a site visit or require attendance at a public lecture as well.
