Introduction

This course will be delivered online.

In this course you will be introduced to Music Production using MIDI and Audio techniques with Logic Pro X. Learn about effects, sampling, learn to remix, mix, and even compose music for film and TV using Logic Pro X.

This course will be taught online via video conferencing and screen sharing using Logic Pro X, but the broad skills learned will be transferable to other DAWs such as ProTools, Ableton Live and Cubase.

The course will include one-to-one advice from your tutor, a practising musician and music technology expert, and lots of practical exercises.

This is a practical hands on course which also builds your knowledge and understanding of Logic Pro X and music production.

Course Content

Recording and editing MIDI using Logic's Piano Roll and Hyper Editor.

Advanced Audio Editing. Manipulating pitch and time with flex time, time stretch and transient marke

Learn about effects, plugins and automation.

Understand sound engineering theory. Sample rate, bit depth and more.

Intermediate mixing. Learn more advanced mix techniques, including subgroups, auxiliary channels, parallel compression, sidechaining and more.

Speed up your Workflow. The tricks the pros use, including shortcuts and timesaving tips.

Troubleshooting common problems. Save hours of frustration by learning how to solve common problems.

Intermediate songwriting and basic music theory - beat creation, writing hooks and hit arrangements.

Advanced rhythm and groove technique - tempo and groove editing, working with transients.

The course will have an aspect of peer review where you can share your finished productions with fellow students and get critical feedback.
