What will you learn?
The programme provides students with a solid base in research methodology, statistics, and biostatistics, laboratory research and communication skills. Leading scientists in fields ranging from metabolism, membrane transport, neuromuscular disease and inflammation to screening efficacy, clinical interventions and evidence-based medicine are involved in the teaching programme as lecturers and tutors.
Biomedical scientists want to minimize the impact of diseases on humans and humankind. Smart, global visionaries are needed who want to solve health care issues in the lab and in the field. Radboud University aims to educate the best biomedical scientists with not just a thorough understanding of the molecular, individual and population aspects of human health and disease, but also with unique areas of expertise.
Health care issues and biomedical research are placed in context. In the programme, links are made between research and patient care (from bench to bedside), and vice versa.
Thanks to the flexibility of designing a personal programme, graduates of Radboud University’s Master’s programme in Biomedical Sciences will have developed truly unique expertise in the field of biomedical science. And the intensive internships will guarantee you are prepared to enter the workforce so that you can quickly start to play a vital role in improving human health.
Each specialisation (ranging from molecule to society) has associated courses you will follow, and you must take at least 24 EC of these courses. Furthermore, you must do a 6 EC literature thesis and a 30 EC research internship. There will be a second research internship related to your career profile choice and elective courses to make up the 180EC in total.
