Introduction
The MS program is designed as a flexible degree program that allows students to pursue in-depth study in areas corresponding to faculty expertise. Traditional areas of study include athletic training, biomechanics, motor control and development, exercise physiology, physical education pedagogy, exercise psychology, and recreation and sport management.
MS degree students may pursue either a thesis option or a non-thesis option. The thesis option requires 24 credit hours of coursework, 6 hours of research credit hours, and the completion (and defense) of a thesis project. The non-thesis option caters to those students with a professional practice orientation. This option requires 30 hours of course work and culminates with a capstone project. Course Requirements of the MS degree are developed in consultation with the student’s advisor and advisory committee.
