The MPH program at PHSU is designed to meet society’s needs by offering a multidisciplinary education that integrates research and community service. It prepares students to address challenges such as improving healthcare access, combating contagious diseases, and reducing environmental hazards like violence and drug abuse.
The mission of the MPH program at Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) is to provide top-tier education, research, and population-based services. It aims to prepare ethical and competent public health practitioners and researchers to excel in promoting and protecting health in diverse communities and a globalized society.
The MPH program at PHSU offers three tracks to suit different public health interests:
- General Public Health: Focuses on developing policies, educational programs, and services to address public health challenges
- Epidemiology: Studies factors influencing disease frequency, distribution, risk, and prevention in human populations
- Environmental Health: Examines the impact of environmental factors such as air, water, and other risks on public health

New Student Opportunity Scholarship
Available to the first 38 enrollees in the International Master of Public Health Online program, this scholarship covers up to 20% of tuition and fees for the first year (the first three quarters). Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress to remain eligible.
Top Educational Option Relocation Scholarship
This scholarship provides up to $1,500 to assist with relocation expenses for up to 20 new non-resident students who enroll early and meet all admissions requirements. Awards are based on fund availability. The Admissions Office will identify the eligible candidates to receive the award, no application necessary.
Deans Achievement Award
Offered to three new students with a GPA of 3.40 or higher, this award provides up to $3,000. Financial need, as determined by the FAFSA, is also considered. Students must apply to be considered for the scholarship.
