Introduction
The Architecture program culminates in the offering of a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). The BArch degree at Phoenicia University requires students to complete 204 credit hours for those beginning at the freshman level and 174 credit hours for those joining as sophomores normally spanning over five years. Of the total credit hours required, 132 credit hours must be completed in core requirements, with the remainder allocated to art electives, general education courses and one free elective course.
The program of Architecture is dedicated to providing students with the fundamental skills of architecture and the basic knowledge in structure, theory, history and design. The program emphasizes the development of design innovation and practices through a highly structured and intensive curriculum. Students are exposed to the most creative design approaches and are encouraged to develop individual approaches to design. Moreover, the program examines the challenges of a contemporary built environment to raise the concerns for design that ranges from individual building to urban landscape.
