The MA in Digital Transformation is an innovative, English-language postgraduate program offered by Panteion University. Launched in 2023, it combines academic excellence with real-world application, preparing students to understand and lead in a world shaped by digital change.
This interdisciplinary degree is jointly delivered by the Departments of Communication, Media, and Culture and International & European Studies.
Through a flexible online format (with hybrid options for those based in Athens), students explore how digital technologies are reshaping diplomacy, communication, and law. The program emphasizes both theory and practice, with case studies, workshops, team projects, and contributions from international professors, professionals, and researchers.
Students specialize in one of three high-demand fields:
E-Diplomacy
- Explore how AI, algorithms, and digital platforms influence diplomacy.
- Gain hands-on skills in crisis management, digital mediation, and strategic communication.
- Design digital strategies to engage diverse audiences, from citizens to international stakeholders.
- Use data and storytelling to make policy ideas clear and engaging.
- Understand the geopolitics of digital trade and the role of international organizations in shaping a new global economy.
E-Campaigning
- Craft compelling campaigns for political, social, and commercial goals.
- Develop tailored strategies that drive measurable results.
- Manage crises and conflicts online while protecting reputation and credibility.
- Understand how digital platforms shape political representation and mobilization.
- Analyze misinformation, hate speech, and the impact of AI and deepfakes on public debate.
Digital Law
- Learn how cybercrime and cybersecurity are regulated globally, and assess their impact on human rights.
- Examine international frameworks and EU regulations tackling digital challenges.
- Explore how competition law and intellectual property evolve in the digital economy.
- Analyze the impact of digital technologies on global commerce and geopolitics.
- Connect digital transformation with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to support sustainability, climate action, and a fair digital economy.
Students graduate with either a thesis, internship, or applied project, combining strong academic foundations with practical expertise and international exposure. During the final semester, student mobility through Erasmus+ is strongly encouraged.
Live online evening classes (18:00–21:00 EET/EEST), with hybrid options in Athens.
Only two short on-site events are mandatory: a 4-day Bootcamp in October and a 3-day Hackathon at the end of the 2nd semester.
The program consists of three semesters. The first begins with an in-person Bootcamp in Greece, followed by core courses that all students take. The second semester focuses on your chosen specialisation, concluding with an in-person Hackathon in Greece. The third semester is dedicated to writing a thesis, completing an internship or working on a project.
More info about the two in-person events:
- Bootcamp – a 4-day immersive kickoff in Greece (October), featuring ignite talks, workshops, co-creative tasks, simulations, and team-building. It provides a comprehensive overview of digital transformation, including its challenges and exciting opportunities.
- Hackathon – a 3-day innovation challenge (end of 2nd semester, Athens), where students design innovative digital solutions using AI and other digital tools to address real-world challenges.
Attendance at both events is mandatory. Travel, accommodation, and non-organized meals are self-funded.
