Our goal is to educate and prepare future leaders and innovators

We are open, progressive and dynamically growing academic department within the Faculty of Science. We provide education opportunities and conduct research in the areas of development studies, environmental studies and foresight. We strive to inspire our students, professionals and the public and thus contribute to the sustainable development of society.

With more than 15 years of experience focusing on development, environment and foresight the department offers an English taught master program Development Studies and Foresight.

Palacký University Olomouc, established in 1573, is one of the leading centres of teaching and research in the Czech Republic. It compasses of 8 faculties and offers degrees in a wide range of disciplines. Yearly, more than 4000 international students study at Palacký University

Master in Development Studies and Foresight offers:

The aim of the program Development Studies and Foresight is to prepare foresight-focused professionals for careers in environment and development policy and practice. The duration of the program is 2 years. Students will be awarded the title of “Magister”, abbreviated as “Mgr.” which is equivalent to the Master of Science (M.Sc.). This program has 3 specializations - Foresight, International Development Studies and Global Development Policy (joint master degree, with University of Clermont Auvergne, University of Pavia).
