Course Highlights

Systems Development and Project Management

This comprehensive course integrates project management and systems development methodologies, covering information systems creation, including planning, coding, web development, cloud computing, data mining, and mobile forensics.

Responsive Web Development with HTML/CSS and jQuery

Explores modern web technologies and programming paradigms, spanning from fundamental markup to advanced client-server interactions, while also introducing key concepts in data analysis, cloud infrastructure, and mobile security.

Web Development with Content Management Systems

Covers concepts of Web computing, layered Web architecture, website structure, and creating websites with Content Management Systems (CMS). It also addresses enabling and managing social networking features, including blogging, polling, discussion forums, and RSS publishing. For the course project, each student designs and implements an effective corporate website for a fictitious company.

Cybersecurity Concentration

The shift to remote work has created new vulnerabilities for organizations and made IT cybersecurity more important than ever. Our highly connected world needs security professionals who are dynamic problem-solvers ready to respond to evolving dangers like malware, data breaches, and phishing attacks.

In the cybersecurity concentration, you will build foundational knowledge of the IT infrastructure ecosystem, learn to identify and defend against threats, and gain specialized knowledge of information security management.

Network Administration Concentration

Network administrators must be able to expertly select, design, and maintain secure systems that meet the needs of their users and their organizations, no matter where employees are located.

In the network administration concentration, you’ll learn to integrate solutions into user environments by applying key concepts in cloud computing, optical networks, and telecommunications. You’ll also develop the skills to create and implement project plans that proactively address changing organizational needs.

Capstone Project Course

In this project-oriented course, student teams develop real-world computer information systems for actual customers.

Students have the opportunity to delve into an area of interest with the enthusiastic support of one of our distinguished faculty members, Jonathan Lee, and will learn the importance of a systematic approach in the process of developing computer information systems.

By working on real-world systems with actual customers, students learn the appropriate skills—both technical and soft—for filling meaningful roles in the professional IT workplace.
